About a month ago, my need for a video bookmarking site, and my need to learn ruby collided.
The idea for a video que of things I want to watch, but not now, has been in my head for a while now, and before that it was a frustration of mine, for a long time It was a frustration i didn’t know I had.
And idea though is worth it’s wheight gold - or nothing. So, I just kept it in my pocket, and then rails, ahhrg, rails came out of nowhere. These two things together equalled a project.
I need something real to do with a language, or new technology, or it doesn’t make sense to me.
Anyway, this is what popped out, Wacchen. The name is pronounced watchin’, and it’s actually old English for the word watch. Mostly it’s called wacchen because, http://watchitlater.com is taken, and I couldn’t come up with a web 2.0 sounding name that didn’t feel silly.
Like many of my projects I am starting at what I feel is the bare minimum required to push it out. I have plans, but instead of go on about the future I am just going to wait untill they happen, but the site is usable, today.
Check it out send me bugs if something is broken, let me know what you want it todo.
