I am writing a book - like a real one.

For a couple of months now I have been slowly moving forward a deal to write a book, and now with the contract is on the way to be signed, I just can’t not say anything anymore. I was going to write this thing whether, or not I got a book “deal”, but I didn’t want to jinx it by starting it in some other form first.
The details, it will be published by Packt Publishing, they do a lot of work with documenting open source projects. It’s going to be called “HTML5 Application Development: Beginner’s Guide”, and it will have an ISBN: 978-1-849690-96-6.
I am stoked, to say the least, but more so I have a knot in my stomach, a good one, but it means I now have to work my ass off, in my spare time, to actually get this whole thing together.
In talking with someone the other day, I realized something about HTML5, and HTML5 Apps specifically. Apps have become a micro-passion of mine, something that I read widely about, and have passionate opinions on, but I didn’t set out to be this way. It’s more like HTML5 Apps chose me. I know it’s a weird thing to say, and it’s way nerdy, but I really care. I find them to be groundbreaking, and future making, and I will fight with the tenacity of a rabid dog to prove those ideas right. Including writing a book to help the process along.
If you weren’t tired of HTML5 Apps already, get ready to be soaked in them. Good thing that most HTML5 App development dovetails nicely with almost any kind of web development.
