Find me on: Google+, Twitter, and email
If you enjoyed this article subscribe to my blog. Curation, which is something I do, I think, is gaining steam. The term has caught on in social media networking circles. This is good, and bad. You can find a bounty of articles about why curating will help your brand, but you may not just be interested in curating for your brand. If you are looking for a deeper look into curating, it can be found. I want to build a curation tool, so I am working my way though my backlog of pinboard links about curation. Here I have a list of all the tools I can find that would be considered curation tools.
Consumer / Personal Tools
Stellar
Good question! We’re still figuring that out. Hence the beta/invite business. But at its core, Stellar helps you discover and keep track of your favorite things on the web. If you like dorking around on Twitter or blogs or whatever, you’ll probably enjoy Stellar. For more information and updates, check out my post about Stellar on kottke.org or follow yo_stellar on Twitter.
In my opinion, stellar is leaps, and bounds ahead of all the other tools right now, because it has buy in, and was created by some of the most succesful curaters already on the web. The site is in beta still, and you can tell, it’s slow, but stellar is going to be big. My page is here

Scoop It
Be The Curator of Your Favorite Topic!
Scoop.it is getting a lot of traffic. I am worried thought that they might be a bit of an SEO grab, and less of a help. In RSS feeds they should link directly back to the source, they should make it much easier for a user to find the original article.
Curated By

A growing collection of topics & interests edited, organized and curated by everyone. Follow the topics you are interested in or create and share your own topics with everyone else.
Thoora

We believe that the discovery of great content cannot be accomplished by algorithms alone, but nor can any human make sense of the entire web. Thoora’s secret sauce lies in our unique combination of human and machine. While our patented semantic aggregation engine delivers quality content, we then put you in the driver’s seat, giving you the tools to refine, re-order and prioritize. The result? Human-perfected, living bodies of knowledge that are always fresh and relevant.
This is a tool like scoop.it that allows you to create channels of content that are algorithmically created, as well as hand curated. Here is my channel on curation
