Naming my blog something other then my own name feels like the right call at this time. It has something to do with christmas being a classic time to reflect on the past, and think about the future. I am cautiously excited by this sites growth in the past few months, and I want to start this coming year off right. For years my site was a proto-blog. I always meant to be more active as a blogger, but for most of it’s history I didn’t. It was more like a single point of contact for me on the Internet.
In the last 2 years though I transitioned from proto-blog to actually blogging. I write at a minimum once a month. That goes down in my success column. Over those years I have started the very basic’s of creating a voice. I still feel very naive in this whole project, but I think it now deserves it’s own space.
Rumproarious is a word that fell out of my mouth when I was rushing to recount a story to my family. The words, and ideas were forming so fast that I mentally mashed uproarious with something other word. My family has taken to use that words as the flagship word for my tendency to make words up as needed. All the good domains were taken anyway, so why not use something that sounds like a real word, but isn’t.
So fun facts about this blog, if you care:
- In the last 2 months my subscribe base has gone from 800 to over 3400, and growing.
- According to Google Reader I publish .5 posts a week.
- My most popular post was a failed attempt to sum up html5 in one paragraph
- I started blogging after I had a kid.
